Pick up a traditionally published book and you'll notice nothing about its interior. That's the achievement. The margins breathe, the type sits comfortably, no paragraph strands its last word alone at the top of a page. Interior design is invisible when done right and glaring when done wrong — and readers may not know the word "widow" or "kerning," but their hands know a cheap book when they hold one.
Print interiors
For paperback and hardcover we build your book to the professional standard: trim size chosen for your genre and page count, typography selected for long-form reading comfort, margins calculated against the spine so text never drowns in the gutter. We control the small crimes readers feel without naming — widows, orphans, rivers of white space, inconsistent chapter openings. Front matter and back matter get built out properly: title pages, copyright page, dedication, table of contents where it belongs, acknowledgments, about-the-author, and the "also by" page that quietly sells your next book. You receive press-ready PDFs meeting the specs of every major print platform, calculated to your final page count so the spine of your print cover fits exactly.
eBook editions
Digital is a different animal — not a page but a stream, reflowing across phones, tablets and e-readers, at whatever font size the reader's eyes prefer. We build clean, validated eBook files with working navigation, a linked table of contents, properly nested chapters, and styling that survives every device we can throw at it. No conversion-artifact hyphens, no mystery indents, no chapter titles orphaned at the bottom of a screen. Files are tested against the requirements of the major stores so your upload goes through the first time.
The details that make the difference
Scene-break ornaments that match your book's personality. Drop caps if the genre calls for them. Chapter openers with consistent, intentional design. For fantasy: maps placed where readers can actually find them mid-chapter. For nonfiction: headings, block quotes, callouts and notes that organize instead of clutter. And if your book publishes in English and Spanish, we format both editions in parallel, keeping the twin designs consistent — Spanish runs about ten percent longer, and we plan for it instead of discovering it.
One practical note
Formatting is the last stop before publication, which is why our proofreading pass happens on the formatted files. If your manuscript hasn't been edited yet, let's talk about that first — beautifully typeset typos are still typos, just better dressed.
